Juan Rulfo (1918 - 1986)
Nace el 16 de mayo en en Sayula, Jalisco.En 1945 publica los cuentos "Nos han dado la Tierra" y "Macario" en la revista Pan, de Guadalajara, dirigida por Antonio Alatorre y Juan Rulfo.
En 1946 se establece en México y se publica su cuento "Macario" en la revista América y en la misma, en febrero de 1948 "La cuesta de las Comadres," en enero, 1950 "Talpa" en diciembre, 1950 "El Llano en LLamas" y en agosto, 1951 ¡Díles que no me Maten!
En 1954 El Llano en Llamas se publica en la colección "Letras Mexicanas" de Fondo de Cultura Económica
En 1955 aparece Pedro Páramo e la colección "Letras Mexicanas," con una tirada de 2,000 ejemplares y se efectúa la primera reimpresión de El Llano en Llamas
La Antología de cuentos mexicanos 1954 (México, INIAL, 1955) reproduce "Un cuento".
Se estrena el cortometraje Talpa de Alfredo B. Cravenna, basado en el cuento de Rulfo de igual Título
Publica el cuento "El día del derrumbre."
En 1956 Se establece en Ciudad Alemán, Veracruz, trabajando como promotor de la Comisión Papaloapan, labor oficial sobre la organización del sistema de riego en dicha zona verucrazana.
Emilio el Indio Fernández le solicita guiones para cine. Rulfo trabaja en alguno de ellos e invita a Juan José Arreola a colaborar.
En 1958 se traduce Pedro Páramo al alemán.
En 1959 Pedro Páramo es traducido al inglés y al francés. Esta última incluye además tres cuentos de El Llano en Llamas.
En 1960 Pedro Páramo es traducido al sueco.
En 1961 Pedro Páramo es traducido al noruego y es nombrado el asesor literario del Centro Mexicano de Escritores, junto con José Arreola.
En 1962 Deja de trabajar para televicentro y Viaja a Alemania.
En 1963 Pedro Páramo aparece publicado en Italiano y edita el disco de larga duración Juan Rulfo con textos leidos por el autor, en la colección Voz viva de México.
En 1966 Pedro Páramo es traducido al polaco.
En 1967 El Llano en Llamas es traducido al francés y en inglés. En este mismo añ se filma la película Pedro Páramo.
En 1969 Pedro Páramo es traducido al portugués.
En 1970 El Llano en Llamas es reimpreso pero con importantes modificaciones, desaparece Paso del Norte y se incluyen otras dos El día del derrrumbe y La herencia de Matilde Arc´ngel, Pedro Páramo y El Llano en Llamas se traducen al ruso. Pedro Páramo se publica también en eslovaco.
En 1975 Aparecen en Alemania tres ediciones más de Pedro Páramo.
En 1976 Aparece en Alemania El Llano el Llamas.
En 1983 recibe en España el Premio Príncipe de Asturias.
En 1986 muere en México el 8 de enero.
