Otoniel Guevara
Nació en Quezaltepeque, El Salvador, en 1967. Poeta. Estudió Agronomía y Periodismo en la Universidad de El Salvador. También en la UCA de Managua realizó dos años de estudios de Periodismo.En tres ocasiones fue apresado por motivos políticos. Fue militante guerrillero del FMLN, del cual se desvinculó completamente al terminar la guerra. Fue miembro fundador de los grupos de poetas «Xibalbá» de El Salvador e «Imagen» de Nicaragua. Ha publicado los libros Tanto, El sudario del fugitivo, Despiadada ciudad, Cuaderno deshojado y Lo que ando. Es director de la Revista Cultural Alkimia y de la Revista Solopoesía, las cuales organizan el «Encuentro Permanente de Poetas en El Salvador», que invita a poetas extranjeros a realizar lecturas en universidades, colegios, parques y espacios culturales en El Salvador. También dirigió el sello editorial «Alkimia Libros»
Para quienes aún no conocen a Otoniel Guevara, él es un referente de la contemporánea poesía joven y rebelde, no sólo de nombre sino en la práctica. Desde 1984 ha obtenido primeros lugares en los Juegos Florales de Zacatecoluca, San Miguel, Ahuachapán, Cojutepeque, Apopa, Usulután y en los certámenes “Roque Dalton”, “Alfonso Hernández”, Juventud Literaria, Wang y otros.
Ha participado en eventos como el Festival Internacional de Poesía en Medellín (1999). También ha representado a El Salvador en eventos culturales de Centroamérica, Cuba, Estados Unidos y Colombia.
En la actualidad, se dedica a la promoción de la poesía como presidende de la fundación " Metafora", coordina el suplemento cultural "Tres mil" del Diario Colatino. Entre sus libros de poemas se encuentran: Tanto, Despiadada cuidad y no apto para turistas.
Ultimamente se reúne con el grupo literario: El Perro muerto.

Posee unas sabiduría muy difícil de encontrar. Y cuando se encuentra, es generalmente en poetas ya de largo recorrido por la vida y las palabras. Se trata de una cualidad bastante precoz en la obra de Guevara"

wow, como recuerdo al Sr. Otoniel Guevara cuando iba al colegio Fatima de Santa Tecla y nos leia sus poemas reveladores la verdad nos encantaban mucho ya que nuestro colegio solo era de mujeres,eso fue en 1998 y nos autografio su libro lo que ando ahora lo admiro mas ya que aca en N.Y. tambien se oye de el, gracias Otoniel por tu poesia y por ser un orgullo de nuestro querido pais.=)

Sigue siendo un gran maestro y guru de las letras. Siga dando a conocer como estafar con los escritos de los demas, enriquecerse con fundaciones ficticias y engañando a mujeres inocentes, incluyendo a las mas cercanas que deberia tener, como son sus hijas
cuando la mentira se desliza como serpiente por el césped o por la arena... es porque el día de su captura tuve que cederle algo quien la caza. pero, como a la serpiente nadie la vio ser cazada. ella sigue diciendo mentiras, y todos le creen, todos le aplaunden sus versos, sus poemas, se dice que es poeta, pero de ello solo tiene el nombre, se dice revolucionario, pero de eso no tiene ni un ápice en su zapatos. sé por muchos motivos y por personas que fueron presa de su picadura, hoy, están muertos por la mordedura, desaparecidos. mientrás, ella, la serpiente, se desliza con vítores y tambores como ínclito amigo de la lucha, Mentira, ella fue la que en su captura un viernes, y puesta en libertad un lunes, y casi nadie vio su foto el domingo, que rezaba abajo, fue capturada por la guardia nacional y ponía el nombre de esa serpiente que hoy se dice poeta, ¿se acuerda señor(a)serpiente?
la poesía no se convierte, desde el punto de vista, literario, en mera especulación política, es mas bien literatura que se desliza sutilmente con ella. y si eso no sucede, que pasaría, entonces con el quehacer poético de todos lo poetas que no circulan en estas páginas? y pensemos por un momento que quien determina quién es o no poeta, son siempre aquell@s que se dicen, intelectuales, y que los demas, la mayoría, no piensan, no tienen intelecto, por esa razón, la poesía lo es todo y no lo es, porque lo todo sigue siendo poesía en su misma esencia, y quien lanza palabras al papel o las computadoras son unos cuanto y la poesía en su esencia. leyendo por internet, me encuentro con dizque poeta salvadoreño, escribiendo, y aconsejando, y cito textualemente: "me sigo inclinando 'por versos dedicados a alguien', porque es un tema mas del momento actual.", dejo esta pequeña frase para que aquellos que se dicen intelectuales de la palabras, la estudien, y encontrarán en ella, horrores literarios... y qué poeta escribió eso: un salvadoreño poeta de la burguesía, para que vean comoe esta el patio, eh david escobar galindo, por ese mismo camino va oto, que pena, la poesía salvadoreña se merece algo mejor. no les parece?

El es grande, realmente grande, bueno, malo, maldito... el no deja de ser grande; yo lo admiro, porque en El Salvador vivir del arte no se puede, porque mientras unos te ven como un bohemio otros te ven como un usurero; sea lo que sea, yo se que a mi me gusta su poesia, algunos poemas en mayor o menor medida... Pero me gustan, nadie dijo que por ser poeta tenia que ser perfecto y despues de todo.. Quienes somos nosotros para juzgarlo?
